Winter is a season when most of us become little lazy. We enjoy the cosy weather and often indulge ourselves in eating our favourite  delicacies and variety of fast foods throughout this season. As a result we put on pounds of weight during this season without any idea. But don’t worry here we have some ways to avoid winter weight gain.

  1. Embrace the sun

Get yourself exposed to sunlight during winter season as too little sunlightcan cause cravings for high calorie foods like sweets ,cakes etc.

2.Warm up the body

We become inactive during winter due to chill weatherand this causes stress in body. And when stressed we tend to eat more resulting in weight gain. So keep your body temperature stable ,do some warm up session. Curb your hunger with some green leafy vegetables ,legumes etc.

3. Eat healthy snacks

In winter craving for comfort food increases. Don’t indulge in high calorie food rather swipe it with healthy snacks options made with carrot ,beetroot , sweet potatoes, winter squashes etc. ,this will satisfy your cravings without piling on weight.


4. Sleep well

Inorder to avoid weight gain one should get adequate sleep as per body requirement. Lack of sleep slow downs your metabolism and leads to unhealthy food cravings.

5. Spice it up

Boost your metabolism rate and avoid overeating by adding fewwarm spices in your meal like clove, cinnamon ,ginger etc.
